So would you rock this leather dress at work? Last week a colleague and I took an ‘executive lunch’ and went on an hour and a half shopping spree in the middle of the day (Yes, the place I work at and my boss are beyond awesome!) I picked out, among other items, a white blazer and a coral knitted tank covered in coordinating sequins. I loved the pieces on their own, but once I got into the change room…damn I had a killer work outfit! My colleague remarked that she loved the outfit but she would never have the courage to wear sequins at work.
The next day in the dentist’s office I was reading an interview in Fashion with Michael Kors and he mentioned he never though he’d see the day where sequins were appropriate at the office, then I noticed the receptionist was rocking a gorgeous white tank with silver sequin accents. It’s weird how things always happen like that isn’t it?
I’m not saying I think work dress codes should be thrown out the window, on the contrary, I actually like dress codes and I’m adamantly against ‘casual Fridays’ (Mostly because people today don’t seem to know the difference between ‘business casual’ and ‘casual casual’.) I think the rules actually allow for more sartorial expression. These are the parameters – now make it your own. So, I ask you again, would you rock this leather dress at work?
This sleek leather and ponté dress takes two of our favorite fabrics and puts them together for one amazing look. The front and back panels are leather while the side panels are ponté knit for smoothing comfort.
