I want to change the name of this post, and by extension the name of these shoes, to Go-To’s. As in, these Nine West Barbe pumps are my go-to’s. Like, if I can only have one pair of shoes (omg, can you imagine?!) it would be these. They go with nearly everything, you can wear them almost everyday. And I did, right up until yesterday, but yesterday, something awful happened. Yesterday, I lost a shoe.
I know what you’re thinking. How the hell did I manage to lose a shoe? Well, I’m not quite sure really, but it’s gone. I wore my Nine West Barbe pumps 2-3 times a week. They were so comfortable, I could wear them all day long, no aches, no blisters, nothing. But yesterday as I walked downtown with my bff, in a matter of 3 minutes, my left shoe tore into my foot. Beyond blister, just a red, raw, oozing wound. I hobbled to the mall and bought a pair of $7 flats and carefully put my precious pumps (toe inside heal) into my shopping bag. Then my friend and I went to Old Navy, then to Starbucks. It was there while sipping my ice coffee that I realized my left shoe (the same shoe that had injured me) was no longer in my bag. My friend and I immediately retraced our steps, checked every garbage on the way lest someone simply picked it up and threw it out (what else would you do with one shoe?), went back to Old Navy and searched the place, left my name and number on the off chance they might find my wayward shoe, and then retraced our steps again. No luck. This morning I called Guest Services, Security, and Old Navy…no one has my shoe.
I can’t believe I lost a shoe. Who loses a shoe?! I feel somehow delinquent. And I miss my shoe, even though it hurt me.
Classic high heel pointed toe pump. 3 1/2".
